Changi Museum

The Changi Museum and Chapel are a fitting memorial to the horrors that took place in Singapore during the 2nd World War. During the Japanese occupation of Singapore between 1942 and 1945 numerous prisoners were taken and held under appaling conditions, and this chapel and museum tell the stories of those who lost their lives during that period. The museum was relocated to its current site in 2001, to allow Changi prison to expand, with the chapel relocated to a central courtyard surrounded by the museum. Visitors can't help but understand what happened here, and it is a fitting memorial for families who lost loved ones during the war.
